Last night we left you on a cliffhanger.....what would keep Pete awake tonight.  Well I can assure you, nothing did.  A Carlsberg to himself and an antihistamine and he was away with the fairies.  I felt like we'd had a role reversal as the words I'd uttered as we were putting up the tent came back to haunt me. There was a house next to our spot with a deck on it and as we're setting up, a woman comes out on the deck speaking loudly on her telephone.  I said to Pete,  "do you think she's the type to come out on the deck chatting on her phone into the night?" Turns out she was.  Just after Pete had drifted off, out she came, talking at full volume in what sounded like Russian to my untrained ears.  I thought Pete might wake up but he thoughtfully tried to drown her out with his snoring. I brought ear plugs with me (and have offered them to Pete several times), but tonight I rummaged quietly through my bag so I could use them.  I was just kneading...

I t was after midnight before I got to sleep, due to the young kid in the tent less than five feet away, whining for Momma all bloody night.   Don't know if he shut up eventually, or I was just too tired to care and fell asleep.   Woke this morning at 7am.  F eeling better at present than yesterday, but not counting chickens, will see how I feel, once we get underway. But the best way to wake up, according to my wife, is to drop yourself into an ocean in the arctic circle.   Down to the beach we strolled.   The sun was warm and the sea looked beautiful.   No waves, just a nice gentle sound of the water coming to rest on the sand.   We pick it was probably 16C in the water and definitely a good way to start the day. Ate breakfast, but had to wait for the shop to open at 10am as we have a hard day in store and no shops before our intended campground for the night.   We have a 3.2km tunnel, a1km tunnel a 750m tunne...

Look what was hiding under the mist. Woke at 6am this morning.  B it nervous to move as waiting for pain to kick in, but for the most part, it seems to be more of a dull ache.   Hope things are coming right. Down to the waterfront where we discovered a whole new mountain which had been hidden completely for two days.   It looks awesome.  J ust shows that our decision to stay was the right one.   Weather is fantastic today. Usual routine with breakfast, but don't have a tent to pack up today.  H ad a face time with Keren and Greg and not long after another one with Georgina.  S he is getting better, which is the main thing and on her last visit to the doctor, she got a very thorough female doctor who ticked all the boxes. Headed out of a very nice camp at 10.30am.   The weather was perfect for riding and we had approx 50kms to ride today with undulating terrain. It didn't take long once we headed away from camp for the scene...
